Designing For the User , Presentation 1
For this first presentation I was asked to look at what makes a good web design? I had to produce a presentation with my findings and present this to a group. In my research for the presentation I looked for things such as a good structure, Layout, Design, and the interaction the websites have with the user, and if they have a target audience in mind. I reflected on this and thought I should incorporate an idea of what I would look for in a good web design, and analyse the websites in question against my own expectations. The task will be helpful from presenting to a group, although this is not my main concern. The amount of mediums I have access to has restricted me slightly, as I do not live in a very digital based household, and therefore only have access to the web through a PC and an Xbox 360. My mobile phone does not have sufficient Internet access. I therefore found the task hard to develop, and felt a little like I would be repeating myself on the slides, so I decided to do a commentary alongside this, of which I would speak scripted, to allow me to break up the slides and differentiate them effectively. I feel this would benefit the presentation, and keep the audience more interested.
